چکیده
BARNARD, B. J. H., 1984. Acid production by flavivirus-infected VERO and CER eel cultures. Onderstepoort Journal of Veterinary Research, 51, 8990 ( 1984). VERO and CER cell cultures infected with flaviviruses produce more acid than non-infected control cultures. Acid production is dependent on the presence of glucose. This phenomenon can be utilized for the titration of flaviviruses.

Background: Mycoplasma contamination in cell cultures is considered as a major economic, research and production problem. In this study, mycoplasma-infected Vero cell lines were treated by various dilutions of ciprofloxacin and enrofloxacin in a timely manner. Removal of mycoplasma contamination from infected cell cultures was evaluated and demonstrated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method...

This study was aimed to detect anti-Toxoplasma gondii antibodies in cats infected with Rh strain of T. gondii by using an immunoblotting method. For this, cats were experimentally infected using tachyzoites harvested from Vero cell cultures. Tachyzoites were then lysed and transferred to polyacrylamide gels followed by blotting to PVDF membranes. An immunoblotting was performed using these mem...
متن کاملEstimation of the Cultured Cells’ Volume and Surface Area: Application of Stereological Methods on Vero Cells Infected by Rubella Virus
Background: Morphological changes of the cells infected with rubella virus cannot be observed easily. Estimation of the size of the cultured cells can be a valuable parameter in this condition. This study was conducted to find answers to the following questions:How much time after infection with rubella virus, the volume and surface area of the Vero cells and their nuclei get started to change?...
متن کاملSusceptibility of various cell lines to Neospora caninum tachyzoites cultivation
Neospora caninum is a coccidian protozoan parasite which is a major cause of bovine abortions and neonatal mortality in cattle, sheep, goat and horse. Occasionally, cultured cells are used for isolation and multiplication of the agent in vitro with several purposes. In this study the tachyzoite yields of N. caninum were compared in various cell cultures as the host cell lines. Among the cell cu...
متن کاملComparision of different cell cultures for replication of infectious laryngotracheitis virus from chickens
The propagation of infectious laryngotracheitis virus (ILTV) has been described using primary cell cultures derived from chicken embryo liver and kidney or embryonated eggs, but these cultures use Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) eggs that are time and cost expensive. Since cell line cultures are easier to maintain in laboratory conditions, the growth of ILTV was evaluated in five different cell cu...
